Curve H2 and Forte Greenergy Sign MOU to Advance Sustainable Hydrogen Technologies in Malaysia

JULY 31, 2024

Curve H2 Inc and Forte Greenergy Sdn Bhd are proud to announce a groundbreaking partnership to introduce turquoise hydrogen to Malaysia's clean energy landscape.

Leveraging Curve H2’s cutting-edge microwave plasma methane pyrolysis technology and Forte’s extensive expertise in energy solutions, this alliance promises to significantly advance Malaysia’s sustainable energy goals.

During the Team Canada Trade Mission to Malaysia in March, Curve H2 and Forte signed Memorandums of Understanding with Malaysia Green Technology Corporation Sdn Bhd (MGTC) and Sarawak Economic Development Corporation Energy Sdn Bhd (SEDC Energy). These agreements pave the way for Malaysia’s first zero-emission hydrogen and battery-grade graphite production plant, setting a new benchmark in the country’s energy sector.

This initiative unites industry leaders and government bodies to promote clean energy solutions and sustainable development. Curve H2’s patented process converts methane into hydrogen and versatile high-value carbon materials, aligning with global sustainability goals and addressing market demands.

Curve H2’s reactors can convert various hydrocarbon gases, such as methane, acetylene, butane, and benzene, directly from raw or mixed sources, emissions, or captured streams. A primary focus of this partnership is to harness methane emissions from the palm oil industry, transforming them into valuable hydrogen and carbon products, thus aiding in the decarbonization of a significant emission source. Additionally, opportunities to utilize natural gas and other waste emissions as feedstock will further enhance the sustainability impact.

The collaboration between Curve H2 and Forte Greenergy marks a significant milestone in the journey towards a cleaner, more sustainable energy landscape in Malaysia. Both companies are excited about the potential of this partnership to significantly contribute to Malaysia’s hydrogen economy and are dedicated to leveraging their combined expertise to achieve these goals. By serving the region with a new clean fuel for transport, blending, and hydrogen-to-electricity applications, this partnership is driving significant advancements in sustainable energy solutions.
